Joint Stock Company ¡°Bagrationi 1882" is one of the largest wine processing enterprises in Georgia. It was founded in 1937. The first Georgian company specialized in processing sparkling wines, it has a unique potential.

"Bagrationi 1882" is the keeper and continuer of the age-old Georgian viniculture and winemaking.

The company¡¯s name "Bagrationi" comes from the name of a Georgian Prince, Ivane Bagrationi-Mukhraneli, who started the age of the Georgian sparkling wines. In the middle of the XIX century, Ivane Bagrationi first began to produce the Georgian sparkling wines according to the French bottling method. His industrial production received the first worldwide recognition in France in 1882 when it won the Grand Prix at an International Exhibition in St. Petersburg.

Based on this industrial production, a new progressive method of champagnization ¨C "Charmate¡±, known as the ¡°reservoir method¡± at that time ¨C was put into practice in XX century. Thanks to this method a lot of well-known brands of Soviet sparkling wines have been ¡°given birth¡± and gained a firm position in the market. Today the factory is completely modernized. It is supplied with the newest Italian equipment. The champagnization is made by ¡°bottle¡± and ¡°reservoir¡± methods as well. Besides the developed material-technical base, "Bagrationi 1882" owns vineyards in the most prestigious micro-zones of Georgia. They cover a total area of 110 hectares where the unique sorts of grapes are cultivated ¨C ¡°Goruli Mtsvane¡±, ¡°Pinot¡±, ¡°Chinuri¡±, ¡°Chardonnay¡±, ¡°Tsitska¡±, ¡°Tsolikauri¡± and ¡°Aligot¡±.
