Joelen Enterprises was established in 1972 as a California Partnership of Josef & Lenore Citron, as equal partners. Joelen built numerous housing projects, apartments and condominiums. In the late 1980"s Joelen set out to develop and build a $90 million Luxury Destination Resort Hotel and Marina in San Diego Bay: the Loews Coronado Bay Resort & Marina. They opened the hotel in 1991, and it went on to become an outstanding success.
Under the parent company of Joelen, the Astor Development LLC was formed with Lenore as President and Josef as CEO. Astor developed land.
In May 2005, an Internet Sales organization was formed under the aegis of Joelen Enterprises to sell luxury jewelry, fine art and collectables on eBay. A website was set up to handle drop-shippers products.
